Nant-y-Bîg is the only campsite that is positioned close to beautiful Porth Ceiriad beach near Abersoch on the Llŷn Peninsula. It has the luxury of three separate camping areas: a low-density camping area with panoramic views of the beach, Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia; a camping field with electric hookups near to the facilities (a 15 minute walk down to the beach) and our third camping area set in the valley just above Porth Ceiriad beach itself. To allow you to take full advantage of this areas breath-taking scenery, the Wales Coastal Path is directly accessible from two of these campgrounds.
Out of peak season, the campsite is a haven for wildlife, especially birdlife, the tranquil, southern-facing setting making for one of the most relaxing camping experiences anywhere, weather permitting. Nature-lovers will enjoy the quiet beauty of coastal walks or seaside fishing, flora and fauna or just escaping the daily grind.
Nant-y-Bîg is a traditional campsite, located down a rural single-track lane in an usually quiet corner of Wales – except for school or bank holidays. We provide basic and clean facilities: toilets, showers, sinks, dish-washing area and freezer for ice-packs. We do not have an on-site shop; the closest shop is 2.5 miles away; there is no children’s play area but there is ample space and a lovely beach.
If you enjoy camping, relaxing or would like to explore the beauty and culture of an amazing part of Wales, Nant-y-Bîg is the campsite for you.
To keep Ceiriad at its best, we welcome friendly and environmentally-aware visitors, who will help us preserve our home for future enjoyment.
